Dr. Mamuka Tavkhelidze is the Founder and Rector of Grigol Robakidze University (GRUNI), known for his visionary leadership and commitment to quality education. As a Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences and respected professor, he has played a key role in shaping GRUNI into one of Georgia’s top academic institutions.

Grigol Robakidze University is proud to be recognized as one of Georgia’s leading educational institutions. According to the UNESCO International Institute for Management of Education, GRUNI is ranked among the top five universities in Georgia for graduate employment.

In 2006, at a healthcare summit held by the Government of Georgia, GRUNI was ranked #1 for licensing exam results among medical graduates.
Our students also find success abroad. For example, Dato Kvinikadze, a GRUNI graduate, completed his master’s in Budapest under the Georgian-British-Hungarian programme and was offered a position at an English telecommunications company.
