From October 25 to 29, 2025, the 11th International Scientific Conference – GlobELT 2025 was held at the Batumi Representation of Grigol Robakidze University.
GlobELT 2025 is a well-known international conference in the field of English language teaching. Researchers, teachers and experts from around the world came together to discuss topics such as applied linguistics, intercultural communication, English for academic and specific purposes, teacher development, translation studies and the use of modern technologies in education and research.
The conference was funded by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Mission to Türkiye and was co-chaired by representatives of Grigol Robakidze University and Turkish scholar Hakkı Mirici.
The event opened with a welcome speech by Vakhtang Charaia, Vice-Rector of Grigol Robakidze University. The keynote speaker was Anna Abesadze, Advisor to the Rector, whose presentation sparked an active discussion.
Among the distinguished guests were Osman Çalışkan Mzhavanadze, President of the International Investors Association of Georgia; Ramaz Jincharadze, Deputy Chair of the Supreme Council of Adjara; as well as representatives from the Adjara Museum Union, the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Adjara and the U.S. Mission to Türkiye.
The conference also included a cultural program, giving participants a chance to experience Georgian culture.
The event was organized by the Batumi Representation of Grigol Robakidze University and the Center for International Integration.
