On October 25, 2025, a meeting of the General Assembly of the Georgian Academy of Educational Sciences was held at Grigol Robakidze University. The meeting included important organizational decisions.

The Assembly thanked Professor Zurab Khonelidze for his dedicated work and, based on his own request, released him from the role of President of the Academy.

The Assembly then elected:

• Professor Mamuka Tavkhelidze (Rector of Grigol Robakidze University) as President

• Professor Indira Dzagania as Co-President

• Professor Nunu Mitskevich as Vice President

• Professor Luba Bibilashvili as Academic Secretary (re-elected)

Several members of the Academy also addressed the audience including Professors Avtandil Asatiani, Otar Gogilashvili, Malkhaz Badzagua, Imeri Basiladze, Vakhtang Sarthania, Nunu Mitskevich, Indira Dzagania and Mamuka Tavkhelidze.

The Assembly discussed ongoing reforms and future plans for the Academy.

Grigol Robakidze University and the Georgian Academy of Criminological Sciences congratulate Professor Mamuka Tavkhelidze on being elected President and wish him success in his future work.
